Bagamoyo, a home to world class historical sites. The town was once the largest trade port along the east coast of Africa and the German capital of East Africa. In Bagamoyo there are different ethnics, including Arabs descend making the town a peaceful and friendly place for people from all over the world.

Being the prominent commercial port on the eastern part of the African coastline, it became the destination for caravans of slaves and ivory traveling on foot from Tanganyika Bay on their way to Zanzibar. Nowadays days, Bagamoyo is a centre of dhow building along the Tanzanian Coast.
