Saadani National Park is where safari meets the beach. Tourists get to enjoy a cool oceanic breeze, blue clear water and animals around the park. It has been a protected game reserve since 1960s. a wide range of animals are seen at the park, among them included elephants, giraffes, buffalos, warthogs, waterbucks. Wildebeests, antelopes, yellow baboons, velvet monkeys, and lions although rarely seen.
Because it is a mixture of both marine and plains the vegetation in the park is unique and includes mangrove forests around the Wami River and ocean, clumps of palm trees, coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, savannah grass, flamingos, crocodiles and the black cotton plains.
