To complete this route, it’s requires 8 to 9 days from the Mchame main gate and allows you to stop in 6 stations up to uhuru peak. We consider this route as a simple, popular route with traffic because with these five stations from Shira Camp follow Lava Tower then Barronco Camp jump to Barafu Camp the most freezing one and finally to Uhuru Peak destination point.

This route gives you a much time to recover in terms of energy once you reach each stop you take a deep rest. Also, this route has its own A.K.A “Whisky”, meanwhile been able to view Mount Kilimanjaro Little brother Mount Meru from far.

Your day-to-day- breakdown of this trip

Day 1

Arrival

Machame Camp 2834

Arrive at Machame main gate, our guider directs you for registration while porters on the other side clear our Bag packs and registration. Spend the night at Machame camp side for dinner and night sleep.

Day 2

Shira

Hiking from Machame Camp (2834 M) to Shira (3749 M)

Taking the south side of the mountain with tropical forest on our way, early breakfast after two hours of climb we meet the Moorland zone then lunch and keep moving up to shira plateau where will camp over, our porters arrange the tents while our chef prepare the dinner.

Day 3

Barranco

Hiking from Shira Camp (3749 to Barranco Camp (3901)

Here the route changes to east where there will experience the sem-desert small plants on our way. Watch the Barranco walls these looks stiff and scares to pass over but hiking poles helps to keep balance.

Day 4

Barafu

Hiking from Barranco Camp (3,900 M) to Barafu Camp (4,600 M)

Finishing the Barranco walls that looks more frightening and finally make our way to karanga valley covered with small streams heading to karanga river where will camp over for a night.

Day 5

Uhuru

Hiking from Barafu Camp (4,600M) to Uhuru Peak (5,895)

The route experiences a lot wind and freezing, too much rocky on our way and only see the great icebergs and will sleep early since will start our last route in midnight so we need more energy for tomorrow.

Day 6

Millenium

Summit / Uhuru Peak (5895 M) and descent to Millenium Camp (3,820 M)

Starting in the midnight a great six hours of hiking on stiff ice, keep climbing slowly until will reach Stella point with too much of snow until we see the sunrise. Few hours ahead to Uhuru Peak with celebrations and enjoy taking photos for some time. Then we make our way back down to Stella point.

Day 7

Mweka Gate

Descent from Millenium Camp (3,820 M) to Mweka Gate

Arrives at Mweka gate receive our certificates and sign our official register book receive cold drinks to cool down then our tour operators take you back to the hotel.

Day 8

Departure

Rest in the hotel and shift to your departure.
